I just came across these pictures of artist Alexis Persani's work and I HAD to share them here. With a little help from Photoshop, he gave a trendy makeover to some of the most famous classical sculptures in the Louvre. Such a cool idea! The result is striking:
"Aristée, Dieu des Jardins” by François Joseph Bosio, "dressed" by Alexis Persani.
“La résurrection du Christ” by Germain Pilond, dressed by Alexis Persani.
“Michel de Montaigne” by Jean-Baptiste Stouf, dressed by Alexis Persani.
“Chasseur au repos” de Nicolas Coustou, dressed by Alexis Persani.
It is such a great idea - so original and unique-, and it gives the public an opportunity to see these sculptures in a new way. It's surprising that nobody has thought about doing it before!
