Repurpose Heaven

I hope everybody is enjoying their extended Easter weekend! For me, it is an opportunity to do some DIY and repurposing - not very successfully, I must admit! However, even if my attempts have failed, it has inspired me to take a look at  'proper' repurposing - and I must say, these people are geniuses! These ideas are great and beautiful in their own way:

Beautiful chandelier made of milk plastic crates by Made. Picture from Apartment Therapy

Love the quirkiness of this fish tank fitted in an old tv! Picture from Aquahobby.

Such a gorgeous idea: a desk made of books! Made by the Architecture students at Delft University of Technology. More pictures at Inventorspot.

Grace from Poetic Home gave a new lease of life to this antique horse carriage and the result is stunning!

Unique furniture with a twist: repurposed suitcases by SalvageShack (etsy shop)

Such a simple but pretty idea: using spoons as wall storage hooks! From Country Home.

Love this one: an old dresser turned into a home garden! Instructions by Kate on Shelterness.

And here is a new Etsy treasury I just did with some great other repurposed items! Enjoy ;-)

Celebrating Etsy artists: Photography

The Web can be a great source of inspiration and when I am looking for ideas, nothing inspires me more than looking at other artists' works.

I am often surprised at the quality of the artworks one can find on Etsy. Today for example, I stumbled upon these fantastic black and white photographs from artists I didn't know before - and I'm glad I found them! Their pictures are all available for sale in their Etsy shops:

Windows by Peraboom, $19.
Oak trees in California by AdamOttavi, $40.

Unknown Pub Manchester by Everythingok, $20.

Bird in flight by Handsartshop, $25.
Kitty by Valeriavacca, $50.

And while I am at it, here are a few pictures from artists I personally like (not on Etsy):

Ice Cubes by Pauline Prenat. More pictures on her page here (website in French).

The Necessary Distance (2009) by Morgane Demarchi. More of her artworks on her flickr page here.

Untitled (Basilica de Guadalupe, Mexico City) by Carlos A.Vargas Arteaga. You can see more of his works on his website, here.

What do you think about these pictures? And what about you - do you have a favourite photographer or is there a photograph out there that you're especially fond of? If so, please share in the comments below ;-)

April News and Sales!

Some new additions to my collection of British chinoiseries!

Just a little note to say that I have been quite busy lately which is why I haven't posted any entry on this blog for a while :S

I have been looking for new finds to sell in my Etsy shop and have discovered some great things on the way! Among them is this stunning pair of Edwardian vases:

Alton Pottery, Japanese-style pair of Famille Noire vases, c. 1910. For sale here.

Being obsessed with anything related to British orientalism, I couldn't believe my luck! I absolutely love them and will be happy to keep them for a while ;-)

Another great little find:

Hand-painted sparrow vase, signed 'Arnaldo'. For sale here.

A very pretty sparrow vase, hand-painted and signed 'Arnaldo'. I don't know much about this piece but I think it's quite charming :)

There are more new finds on my website, so don't hesitate to take a look! I also have a new April sale with some very good deals.. I 'm in the mood for a little Spring cleaning! :)
